Glad to see that you are making an effort for your fans. I will be honest, I only recently became your fan. About a month ago, I was looking you up to see if you are on twitter or have your own website. At that point I found that you weren’t on either.
I must have sent you some sort of telepathic message cuz now you have both!
Best of Luck with all your upcoming projects and wish you the best of responses for “Cooking with Stella” at TIFF. 🙂
It looks very good… 🙂 look forward to your personal journey. In the same time I wish you don’t have this part of journey but we didn’t have choice to pick what we like or we don’t like. It came as a package…

I have been a fan of yours since the very hot Bombay Dyeing Ad of yours. (I was in eighth standard and oogled at that towel draped dopey eyed image!) Today I am thirty years old with a son who is year and Half.
I have always admired you for the way you have handled yourself. Especially your personal life.
We will all pray that you get back to the best of your health. I hope you have friends and family who will be there for you.
One more thing you look as stunning as you used to. I hope that you will recuperate completely and appear in a ad as stunning as the Bombay Dyeing one when my Son is in eighth standard.
Lisa… Please please find some time to watch this video. In it, you will see a couple of acclaimed Ayurvedic experts (and they indeed are REAL experts!!) from Soth India who claim to cure cancer. I currently do not have any further information about them, but will try to do my research… however, since I don’t live in India anymore (and I am no medical expert) I am not sure how much I may be able to come out with. So, I would suggest you to do your research too… but IMHO you should not ignore these alternative medical options at all…
If I find something interesting, I will certainly get back and post it here.
My best wishes and prayers are with you,
PS: Also, I heard.. sometimes yoga can spread the cancer in the bones… so find out more from your doctor… which I am sure you have… but just thought… no harm in mentioning!
I have come accross a book, title: Healing Power of Papaya, by Barbara Simonsohn, She has narratated not only the benefits of papaya pulp, but also given uses of Skin, seeds , raw or ripe.
I have used her adivse to cure my ever reducing weight syndrome with continuous intake for three months.
In the book she has also claimed to have cured her own disease which she says was Ovarian Cancer.
I have given below the exerpts of the book:
Healing with “the Fruit of Rejuvenation”
In her lively and descriptive health handbook, best-selling German author Barbara Simonsohn shares knowledge that native peoples from all over the world have successfully practiced for centuries. The “power fruit” papaya is virtually a universal remedy with a large spectrum of anti-inflammatory effects against many health disorders and diseases. Today, scientific research has confirmed all aspects of this empirical medicine.
And since the papaya is one of Mother Earth’s best-tolerated, enjoyable foods, the author has provided numerous interesting food and cosmetic recipes. Valuable tips on a healthy diet and lifestyle complete the book. Healing Power of Papaya also has an A-Z section, making it an excellent reference work for anyone who wants to use the papaya to become healthy and fit—and stay that way
I wish you may read it and try to use the Fruit for combating the harmful effects of strong medicines. And also to eradicate the Cancerous cells from your system.
I am not a medical person but have feeling that your condition will improve and the set back in your life will go soon.
May Universal Forces bless you with good health and peace of mind.
My Guruji, cures many of chronic diseases which I’ve personally seen. There are many people who got cured and living happily.
He’s basically a Doctor and turned to a Yogi expertising in Sidda Ayurveda. He’s just 90 years old, still very active.
First, you can send your diagnostic reports to me so that I can show him. Depends on his reply you can approach him directly or through me.
While giving the medicine to any person, he tests the person’s reluctance, belief on him and the commitment to use the “Ayurvedic Medicine”.
You can visit his web site http://sundaraswamy.org. But this site is under construction. For your reference you can visit the ‘Press releases’ area and can see the article published in a English daily.
lisa , dont loose heart ,but u r special and i prey to GOD for ur long most loving and charming life ahead for atleast twenty years as i live , if it can be transferred , let u take half of my life so that we can live happily.
i m a homoepath so if u wan to try it , i am always at ur disposal
May God Bless You.
It is shocking to hear the news, but heartening to see your conviction abt the treatment. I wish if you can go to http://www.sahajayoga.org and start doing the meditation. Shrimataji has cured so many of untreatable cancers and few of them I have met personally. Since I myself is a doctor, it was quite unbelievable for me, but that is the truth. At the same time you can start with naturopathy. I know everyone will be advising you now, but my request will be that you atleast visit that site.
Take care and wish you a speedy recovery
you are most beautiful person in this world, trust in god, keep the faith,we are all with you through these troubled times, you are a winner wherever you are,you will get through this, may god be with you with every step you take,bye.regards,always,anand.
I was grateful to find your blog- your positivity and humor in the face of cancer was what I needed to hear today. I work at a children’s hospital and take care of children with brain tumors, many rare and incurable, with no funding because not enough people get the disease for it to be profitable to fund research. I walk this weekend for those with ATRT, a rare brain tumor affecting mostly kids under 3, and believe me they are some of my greatest teachers- in terms of patience, flexibility and acceptance. Awareness is the key and speaking out gets more people involved, more energy toward healing. We all need to share what we know, thanks for making it fun to read about decadron, don’t see that every day.
I am quite awed by your eloquence on the yellow diaries, more so when the environment is hued with the vibes of multiple myeloma. I believe that one of the important facets of treatment of any disease is also how you deal with your life at that point.
I can see from your writings that while you are aware of the disease in particular, you also know that the best possible treatment is available to you. I am sure with God’s Grace you will come out tops.
‘ Life is what happens to you when you’re busy making other plans’ – John Lennon
Stay focused and as positive as you can…I believe attitude is 99% of fighting cancer. I was diagnosed with acute leukemia in 2004 so have been a member of the cancer club for 6 years…I have had 2 bone marrow transplants in 4 years. And then it came back again. It is a hard journey. But it has made me realize that every single day is a gift. And how much I love and appreciate my family and friends – they are my “riches”. I know what you mean about steriods and how the drugs change you…but remember YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!! I keep this quote from Maya Angela with me always (given to me by a dear friend with multiple myeloma who also had 2 bone marrow transplants…”I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it”. Sending you lots of positive energy!! xoxo Sindi
I am not sure whether you will go through this. Please check this out may be this will be useful for your treatment.
The Ayurvedic treatment of multiple myeloma is aimed at treating the basic pathology of the disease and reducing or controlling the complications. Panch-Tikta-Ghrut-Guggulu, Trayo-Dashang-Guggulu, Punarnavadi-Guggulu, Arogya-Vardhini, Kanchnaar-Guggulu and Panch-Tikta-Ghrut are used in high doses to treat the dysfunctional bone marrow. Medicines which act on the ‘Majja’ dhatu (tissue) are useful in multiple myeloma. These include Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), Amalaki (Emblica officinalis) and Musta (Cyperus rotundus). Medicines which act on the ‘Rakta’ dhatu of the body are also useful in this condition. These medicines include Patol (Tricosanthe dioica), Kutki (Picrorrhiza kurroa), Saariva (Hemidesmus indicus), Patha (Cissampelos pareira) and Musta.
A special course of medicated enema called ‘Ksheer-Basti’ is used in multiple myeloma. This procedure is believed to act directly on the bone and bone marrow. Repeated courses of this procedure are effective in correcting the abnormal bone marrow and in reducing bone pain and fractures.
Multiple myeloma can lead to several complications which need to be treated separately. Anemia can be treated using Tapyadi-Loh and Punarnavadi-Mandur. Bone pain can be treated using Laxadi-Guggulu and Asthishrunkhala (Cissus quadrangularis). High levels of calcium in the blood, amyloidosis (protein accumulation) and kidney failure can be treated using Gokshur (Tribulus terrestris), Guduchi, Punarnava (Boerhaavia diffusa), Punarnavadi-Qadha, Gokshuradi-Guggulu and Chandraprabha-Vati.
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Suvarna-Parpati, Ras-Parpati, Panchamrut-Parpati, Suvarna-Sutshekhar-Ras, Suvarna-Malini-Vasant, Suvarna-Bhasma and Heerak-Bhasma are used to improve the immunity of the body. To prevent or reduce side effects from chemotherapy and radiation therapy, medicines like Ashwagandha, Shankh-Vati, Laghu-Sutshekhar-Ras and Vishwa (Zinziber officinalis) are used.
Thus, Ayurvedic medicines can be used as additional therapy in multiple myeloma to bring about a faster response, to prevent recurrence, and improve quality of life and overall survival of the patient. It is important to note that all such patients should be under the regular care and supervision of an Oncology team.

So please smile now before reading further….
I am not your fan. I didn’t even know you but i had read about your problem related to cancer. First you make yourselve positive in approach yes its not a big problem. One sure thing will happen that it will cure if you have faith in the theory of karma as told by lord Krishna in Bhagwatgita(religious old book of hindus) ”Don’t wait and think for the success only think about your work. Because the work done without any thought of success is succeeded’
i have tried it whole heartedly many times and succeeded.
If you can apply on you it will be helpful in healing cancer also.
If you belive me for the true help i wanna give you advice that please as soon as possible consult to scientist and Dr. Munir khan about your cancer at Bombay in India. He has done vast research about and also succeeded in wiping out cancer 100% from its root. So i hope you will recover soon as early as possible. Please please at least discuss with Dr. Munir khan.
i’m not your gr8 fan and don’t know why i feel really sad to know about ur health. When I first saw u in album of Nusrat fateh ali khan saab i started seeing you in dreams. you become my dream girl but like other men i too felt that dreams are dreams and they could not become reality so i had stopped thinking ab8 you. but somewhere deep inside i still have a great liking for you. i’m thankful to god that he created so a beautiful girl like you and you look stunning everytime you appear. i know in few months you will defeat this cancer and wull live happily ever after. lady please start chanting mahamritunjay mantra from now on. We love you. Please always stay healty and happy for us.
So I was SHOCKED to hear about you in the papers today. I’ve been following your career path (all your movies) throughout and totally love the way you carry yourself, emote – I saw you evolve into what you are today – a beautiful, graceful, elegant, classy and articulate actor.
My heart goes out to you and you’re in all my prayers. Why is life such a bitch? But hy they know not what they’re up against – you’re gonna beat them to it. You’re a fighter and a cute one 🙂
Hi Lisa, I came to know about your health last night in the news and I am sure you will beat this. I have no doubt in my mind. You are very brave. I will pray for you and you will be fine.
You probably DO NOT know what you mean to thousands of people across the globe.
Right from your advertisments days to Kasoor to Bollywood Hollywood and the most recent ICTS & TWU, you have been awesome. I can keep watching your movies again and again and again.
And by watching you in movies, in reading your interviews, I just began liking you more and more. One day I dreamt of having a wish from GOD that was blessed to come true. When I questioned myself, what was one thing I wanted to do, if I had a wish to ask for. You know what my heart desired instantaneously – If I had one wish, I would want to see you, to meet you that very moment. If my horoscope is right, I have another 50 years to live. And if God wants to make my wish true, I wish to see you, to meet you..but not this very moment but after 50 years. I want to see the mesmerising Lisa 50 years from now.
I doubt that you would remember, but you assisted us in the opening of our Mississauga Branch of ABCO Business Interiors. I’ve always hoped that I would have the opportunity to talk with you again, to say thank you and to tell you how impressed we all were with you and what a pleasure it was to meet such a lovely person.
I was both shocked and saddened by the news or your illness. I have spent the last while reading your blog and the responses from your many fans. I don’t know of any miracle drugs, plants or chants that will cure cancer, but I do believe in the power of positive thinking and the power of ones own mind. Keep up the positive attitude and the gift of sharing with others. That, coupled with the prayers from most everyone your life has touched and God willing, you will beat this beast and continue to share your loving spirit with us all for years to come.
Good luck and God Bless, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I am shocked to hear this….can god be so heartless….giving u all the beauty of the world and then put u in a situation like this……i am shocking and have no words to express it…….All i can say is keep faith and we hope that u recover soon and be back in action and as usual creating ripples in peoples hearts….
I have seen and admired u from my childhood days…..U were and are my favorite lady since then….and something happening to u like this is a shock to me…..personally i am heart broken……..
Anyhow all our prayers with u….In case u can pen something back to my personal email it would be the happiest moment of my life….
GET WELL SOON DEAR!!!!!! MISS U TILL THEN ON SCREEN!!!!!
a big fan of yours. I am studying medicine and one of the things that i have come across while treating patients is that one of the keystones of improvement is the patient’s own belief in their becoming better, outlasting and defeating the disease; other two being a good doctor and lots of support. I believe that have the perfect combination of all three here. so hang on girl, you will win this.
I was diagnosed with CML ( Chronic Mylogenous Leukeamia ) in 1995 when I was 25 years old. The doctors nearly gave up me as I did not get a donor to match my HLA typing to go through with a BMT ( bone marrow transplant) nor did I respond to the initial ( 18 months) doses of Inteferon.
Fast forward 14 1/2 years, 2009 ….I am alive and kicking, an entrepreneur and mother of a 17 year old. Living an enriched and blessed life, a lot of which I can attribute to the healing ( soul) affect of cancer.
I would say your fight against cancer is 90% with your mind and probably 10% with your body. I am a trustee of a cancer awareness association. Im sure you are going to do great ! Keep fighting, never give up, its going to be well worth it.
She was on a mission, to cry her eyes out and talk to death.
She went outside and took what she hoped would be her last breath.
Sitting in a chair, she felt too alone.
So she went down and sat in the two seated swing in front of her home.
She rocked back and forth, as she slowly let loose and cried.
She blasted music in her ears, as she slowly wished she could have already died.
The rain slowed, and she asked for a sign.
She doesn’t believe in God, keep that in mind.
But she looked up to the sky, and told him it was now or never.
She looked down to the ground, and didn’t believe she’d find one, not ever.
The rain poured down, in two heavy little pokes.
She looked over her shoulder to the other seat, and listened to the tree frogs’ croaks.
Nobody was there, yet she didn’t feel by herself.
She looked toward the mountain, and suddenly felt like she needed help.
Clouds had covered it, before her silent prayer.
And now as she looked, she found the mountains were there.
She could no longer cry,
But she wanted to still, that was no lie.
So she sat there, staring into space.
And the raindrops came and took the tears’ place.
Down her eyes they slid off her chin.
Tonight wasn’t the night for her last sin.
She looked once again to her right.
She swore an angel was with her tonight.
“Dear Angel, you might be a sign, but I need a stronger one.”
Was all she said, before the cold air made her numb.
She got up and started walking to the door.
She was convinced there was nothing worth living for anymore.
But as the door slid open, the rain came down fast.
And it suddenly seemed that her breakdown was a thing in her past.
She came back to a message from the only friend that seemed to really care.
She read the words quiety, and continued to stare.
Rest assured, she told the friend she was fine.
She told her death had given her an offer, but for some reason she had given a decline.
The friend told her how much she cared and how much she meant.
And that’s when the girl started to believe her friendly angel was Heaven sent.
Then one more friend took her mind off of the tough time.
He made her smile, and at the same time made sure everything was fine.
And that’s when it hit her, that’s when she realized the truth was fair.
There was always a reason to live, and her reason was right there.
Hi lisa, how r u………hope u r fighting it out with all the strength and motivation as is reflected from ur writings…..it’s always nice to talk ur heart out as it’s relaxing as well as invigorating…..the shitty nauseating s/c fat will all vanish after testing ur perseverance and grit……my prayers for u and ur family……..have a smooth and early recovery………..
I still remember gladrags cover page where u featured in swim suit. I was in school 6 or 7 class and after seen that cover page with one of our senior (hostel), we friends contributed the pocket money to buy that magazine. Like me their are many in india for whom u were and is first crush of life and as you know no one forget his/her first crush.
When i saw your yesterday pic you are still same young and beautiful and i know nothing will happen and we all will get ol but u will be always beautiful, young and charming.
tc and i wish you will be out of this trouble soon and whole of india will welcome you.
Ms. Ray, I only just a couple mins. ago heard of the ‘news’ 😦 I had 2 friends tell me about it almost at the same time and I immediately was in disbelief, like I couldn’t believe it was happening…..of all people to you. I know it may be a bit crazy for you to read some of our messages, because in it, we speak as though you were a good personal friend (lol), but from your work and your interviews, you have left SUCH AN AMAZING IMPACT on SOOO many of us, that we feel like we do know you so some extent.
You are not only one of the most beautiful women (if not the most beautiful) in our (I’ll speak for all 🙂 opinion but you are so very intelligent and everything that you say has profound meaning. What is so different about you is that you are not just a celebrity, no, you are one of the few that can be considered a Role Model as well.
Our prayers and good wishes will go out to you in this time, we know that by god’s grace you will be protected and ok :-). My mom wishes you the best as well :-), I told her and she said, that’s the very pretty ‘Indian’ girl lol. Anyway, being introduced to your work and watching your eloquent speeches in interviews have changed my life forever in a very positive way. So thank you SO MUCH for being you.
On last thing, as this message is really getting too long. When I entered your site and saw the e. e. cummings quote, I was blown away again. You are truely an inspiration….:-)

My feelings and Emotions are in dilemma
Emotions has to live up or wipe off
Mind still restless…
Those care that tenderly love I deserve?
My life goes behind the curve

Even I don’t know where I would be landing…
Again the fruit of love ripe off
Now mind behave diplomat

My mother was diagnosed with Liver Cancer in 2007. And she is following alternate therapy: Ayurveda therapy. And she doing well.
She does have her weak moments, but her heart is the strongest and she gives us strength..
Do not feel bad
Never become desperate
It is easier said than living through the ordeal
Gather your courage
Fight tooth and nail
Believe in you
Believe in your creator
Rely on His wisdom
Respond to Him alone
Realise the hope you have in Him
So many souls are praying for you
See the real love you beget
Love of God is truer than this
Get you dose
Give it to others
Live your life even through eternity
Close your eyes, open your heart
concentrate hard, get ready to start.
It is almost time to lift off and fly.
Believe in yourself and you’ll fly very high.
Open your wings, spread them out
This is what flying is all about.
I know you can make it through this test.
Come on now. Do your best.
Now that you can fly and soar,
You can enter that successful door.
My father has the same Multiple Myeloma and he is under chemotherapy for over 3 years. It had reaches the level 3 and also kidney go failed by the time it was diagnosed. But, he is still fighting and doing good. With all the wishes and support you are getting from all over the world, i’m sure you will recover soon.
I really appreciate you for reaching out to the public and spreading awareness, this will surely help midicos provide better treatment to atl east future myeloma patients.
First I want to say Congratulations on your film “Cooking with Stella”. It is playing just around the corner at the Roy Thomspon Hall very close to where I live currently. I would love to attend but I am in a wheel chair currently so I will look forward to the film at the movie theatre or on a DVD.
Next I want to tell you how important it is to say that you have Multiple Myeloma to the world! Bravo!! It is difficult I know but the more people who are educated about this hematological cancer the better it is. Some tend to get it mixed up with another disease called melanoma.
I have had multiple myeloma for about 13 years now. I am a Registered nurse and didn’t understand the diagnosis of myeloma initially.I started the first support group in Toronto back in 1997. We meet 6 times a year and we have educatioal speakers for 5 of these meetings. Our first meeting, I remember we had press coverage and a young woman attended probably in her thirties as yourself and she brought her new born baby with her. She is doing well and her baby is probably 12 or 13 years of age now!! There is hope that this disease will eventually become chronic and we can live to a sweet old age!
Thank you for sharing your story with us, it is greatly appreciated. Please take good care of yourself!
For Lisa Rani Ray- My tears of sadness are now tears of joy to see your strength come across the world like a hurricane. Taking all our hearts one swell at a time. My family has dealt with much loss and joy from the “C” word.. We’ll NEVER give up hope for a cure.. from my end of the world to yours!!
SPREAD THE WORD AND SUPPORT…
My inspiration comes from those who are not afraid to share!! thanks for sharing your journey, you’re helping everyone on the path to embrace not being ill.. but being ALIVE..
Your blogs are cherished!!
Our hearts will follow you towards full remission..
You are more beautiful than ever because now you’re living towards a plan, HIS plan!!

When all about you is black with gloom,
And all you feel is pending doom.
When your bones are racked with grim despair –
When every breath is a gasp for air.
Keep on going, though you need to grope,
For around the bend is a ray of hope.
A ray of hope is perhaps all that’s left,
As your will to live has been bereft.
You’ve lost it all, it’s just no use!
You can end it all, you need no excuse.
But throw away that piece of rope,
And give yourself a chance of hope.
Just give yourself another day,
Brushing aside what your thoughts may say.
This is your life and you can make a new start,
By ignoring the brain – just follow the heart.
Taking baby steps in order to cope,
And minute by minute you’ll build on your hope.
Build on your hope,. one day at a time,
Though the road be steep and hard to climb.
The hurts of the past – they should be dead.
The fears of the future are all in your head.
Just live in the present and refuse to mope
Your life will sparkle for you’re living in hope.
I was shocked and saddened to hear of the recent news of your battle. I have a mother who is battling a terminal cancer and your story was something I could relate to in many ways. Wearing the way you have dealt with the prognosis with courage and strength, I can’t tell you, how much comfort and support it brings to others out there going through this struggle. I have always thought you are one of the most beautiful actresses out there, but after seeing you shine in the media spotlight, both on Canada AM, and the Red carpet this week, I think your fans see an inner beauty that far surpasses the external which we have come to see over the years. God bless you, and know that you have thousands of people praying for you and sending you their love. The impact you are having on countless people battling illness makes you a star infinitely brighter than many “stars” in the celebrity spotlight.

You enchanted everyone with your beauty, personality and some very notable roles in the Indian Cinema. It’s absolutely great that inspite of the great ordeal you have openly come out in the public about the dreaded difficulty that you are going through and being so confident. I deeply admire your great spirit and your courage.
At this point of life, more than being called a great fan of your, as an ardent well wisher, I wish you the very best. My sincere prayers to the almighty to see that you quickly recover and get back to active work.
The almighty will push in the antibodies inside you and there will not be any trace of what you are bravely going through. Sincere prayers always work.
You will be absolutely fine soon and come back with more vigour to entertain all of us with more grace, more beauty, more love and more commitment.
The Lord will heal you and I have the absolute faith in him.
With warmest regards and love towards complete recovery.
I am gaurav from India. I want to tell you something.

Dear sister Lisa,
I read about your condition and am happy dear sister you are facing your condition with sabr(patience).Reminds me of the following verses from the Holy Quran.
“Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods, lives and the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Who say: when afflicted with calamity: “To Allah we belong and to Him is our return.” They are those on whom (descend) blessings from their Lord and Mercy and they are the ones that receive guidance.” (Qur’an 2:155-157)Allah is arabic word and means simply The God.
One will not gain power until he is afflicted. For indeed Allah afflicted Nooh(Noah), Ibraaheem(Abraham), Moosa(Moses), ‘Eesa(Jesus) and Muhammad, may the Salawaat of Allah and Salaam be upon them all. So when they were patient, they gained power, so let not anyone think at all that he is free from pain.
The Believer shows gratitude and thankfulness for all the wonderful blessings God gives him and displays patience and submission during sickness and hardships, hunger, or other afflictions. So dear sister NEVER EVER give up.

Hey Lil Sista and fellow Moon Face…I played a Flamenco gig today—I thought of you. …it was only about 2 hour gig for a Sunday Brunch at a nice restaurant . I have been way, way to ill to perform but today I HAD to go in to make some $ … my salary is like a waiter…I work for tips and Cd sales. I sold 30 Cd’s and made almost $ 400 in tips…I did quite well considering my health…almost a thousand dollars. Even my radio program doesn’t that kind of $ .
Suddenly one of my fans shouted , “Hey MoonFace!”
Well I looked around stunned…because I knew this was YOUR description of MM.
One of my Oncologists came in, dropped a C note into my jar … He said since I announced your illness on my blog … people are now also following ‘you.’
So ‘Miss Moonie’…cheers. I hope your weekend was half as good as mine.
I pray your royalties measure up to the richness you have exposed of yourself in your writings. Perhaps you are brave in doing all this… I don’t feel brave…
I feel sad that I have been arrested by the “Fun Police” They presented me with the warrant which read, “Wanted…for having too fun and never considering that anything bad would ever happen to you.
Miss Lisa…screw the Fun Police…party as much as you like. Eat chocolate, drink wine and eat caviar. “Kiss someone like you’ve Kidnapped them!! ” I’ll never forget you for thay line. Awesome…party on girl!

I just met you in the movie ‘Can’t Think Straight’. Let’s just say I stumbled on to it one day, at the right time in my life, you’ve helped me!
You are a courageous actress, so it’s not a stretch to think that you are a courageous person!! So i’m thinkin’ this whole cancer thingy… ‘just a speed bump, that’s all’ … you’re not going anywhere you still have a lot to say and do!
Lisa- Adore ur strength and u are a superb actress. Cant forget Afreen girl ever 🙂 Cant think straight is wooohooo ,
ur performance is kasoor was without any doubt excellent… U make me cry on that song everytime i see it ” dil mera tod diya usne bura kyu manu” I wish u All the Best, Im sure u are a fighter and u are doing a great job.. Keep up the good work !
i wish you luck.
My driver has a 4 year daughter who suffers from luekumia, one day the poor man who is an extraordinary guy,and has a very high self esteem, broke down and told me that that doctors has given her up ,only way was transfusion and they ask him for skies…completly ,out of his reach,i was shocked ,i realy couldn’t understand how to react.somehow , but kept on asking him occasionally about how she was, now,it is past two years she is absolutly well.tests stand negative,I never believed in miracles and am not a very religious minded either, but this amazing recovery has made me think twice, espacialy knowing how geniunely pious and faithful this family is.
You have a beautiful soul ,it should happen in yr case aswell.
All the best.enjoy yr life.
Im sure like there are millions of friends/ fan & family wishing speedy recovery – here i am wishing you exactly the same, but with immense confidence you will emerge a winner. I dont know much that disease or its cure but highly recommend Vipassana Meditation as this will give u immense strength to live & face realities of life.
I will not extend any sympathies as think you are a winner & am 100% confident this phase of you life will soon get over & you will be back to normalcy. May sound funny when i was a young boy in university – your album Afreen had just released – always wondered how could anyone look as good as u – infact had this huge poster of yours on my walls & would keep a collection of all your pics. I have had a broken nose fighting for u, when one of the kiddo’s made some silly comments 🙂 … Then i started reading your interviews & realised its not just pure beauty but beauty with brains..a pretty rare combination.
Plenty people come n go & very few leave such remarkable footprints in anyones mind -you truly are a chosen…God Bless !
Well i ve as a doctor always thought of life as walking on a rope as and there is nothing more complex than a human body and nothing more infinite than human mind. The human body has this amazing power of spontaneous healing if our mind is powered by positive thoughts.Well lisa Multiple myeloma can be cured with a bone marrow transplant with regular chemotherapy and more over ur mind should be powered by lots of postive energy. This surgery is done in UK and many centers.Well its not just you and there is so much pain and suffering all around the world.U will be normal soon as many like me r praying for u ….tc
I’ve recently became a fan after seeing “I can’t think straight”. I was watching the film and thought “what a striking human being”. I came across your blog over the weekend and was devastated. I read it all and thought…”what an amazing woman”. YOu sure are an inspiration to others.
I would like to donate to research for a cure for MM. I just don’t know how to go about it.
I like your attitude and your strength. The Lord has plans for all of us and he has a plan for you…perhaps that plan is to spread the word about this disease and show others that they have cancer and cancer do not have them. You can rise above obstacle if you have faith.
You sound like a fighter! I will continue to read your blog. I am glad that you have your father and “Bobcat”!
Please let me know what I can do to contribute to any cause to combat this disease.
I am a 29 year old British Indian guy who is living in Switzerland.
I admired you as an actress in “Water,” and another film which the name currently escapes me but you were the undoubted star of. Your depiction of the widow was one of the best character portrayals I have ever seen. Utterly brilliant. I still remember the rain scenes with you and Jon Abraham five years after watching the movie.
I just wanted to hope you get better soon and get back on the screen. You are a true inspiration to all Indians.
1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God. 10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
I just wanna to say that plz dont loose hope……because it is the starter for every big fight against all odds…

My name is Hiren Variava and I am part of a registered non-profit organization called Masti Group Charitable Organization in Chicago.
About a year back, we, Masti Group, lost two of our close friends, both under 30, to cancer. These tragic events caused lot of frustration within the group. We decided to do something about it and the non-profit org was born. As part of this organization, we focus our efforts towards cancer awareness and research. Since we all are volunteers, 100% of the donations and raised funds go towards cancer research. You can visit us at http://www.mastigroup.org
As part of the drive, one of the events we are organizing is Raas Garba on Nov 7th, 2009. If you are in Chicago during that time, we will be delighted to have you at the event but we understand that you must have a busy schedule. But to encourage our efforts and raise cancer awareness, we were wondering if you could promote the event either by sending us a video, or writing few lines about us and the event in your blog.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
After October I find no one is inquiring you
How do you feel now ?
I believe in His Mighty name that you have

Life has a purpose Lisa, it is not just fame and money, also it is not wishing the life the way we want it, it is not just moving around in this planet, if you try to establish a truer relationship with your fellow being naturally you will yearn to have the same with your creator also, in simple terms we call him God, become a believer of Him, enjoy the relationship filled life and tell your joy to others.
